Discovery Church began in September, 2004 when a small group started to meet in the Westwood House Hotel in Galway. Paul Cullen became the Senior Leader (Pastor) in May, 2005. In 2007 Galway Pentecostal Church and Discovery Church began talking and praying about the possibility of the two churches uniting and becoming one church. The two churches became one church under the leadership of Paul Cullen as the Senior Leader (Pastor) and William Nolan (Elder) in September, 2007 and retained the name Discovery Church.
Discovery Church now meets in a state-of-the-art building in the IDA Small Business Park on Tuam Road in Galway. They provide teaching during their vibrant Sunday services for adults and children and also have youth, young adult and small group meetings during the week. All are welcome at 10:30 on Sunday with breakfast served from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
